Hypolipidemic Potential of Cinnamomum Zeylanicum to Type 2 Diabetes-A Systematic Review

Cinnamomum zeylanicum (CZ) has been involved in extensive research for its hypoglycaemic, hypolipidemic, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-obesity effects. Evidence from in-vitro, in-vivo clinical trials have manifested potential value the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus complications. This review article highlights mechanism action, pharmacological studies, safety studies drug interactions CZ on which also includes different supplement doses, duration, mode administration baseline body mass index. A database search was conducted using databases: PubMed, Clinical Key, Google Scholar Science Direct. systematic examining effects extracts done. In vitro revealed a reducing emergence foam cells lipid accumulation vascular smooth muscle cells, preventing hepatic fat cessation anabolic pathway fatty acid esterification. The beneficial animal include reduction serum TG, TC, LDL-c with increase HDL-c dose-dependent manner at higher doses over short duration or lower long duration. It showed human decline rise association BMI (Body index) manner, more improved profiles when taking capsules comparison to infusions.
